Since I got a couple questions about what my council comments referred to, I thought I’d share the video of the joke given from the dais on July 1, 2025.
Some context. After getting a standing ovation from Brian Livingston and Burt Thakur, newly sworn-in Councilman Jared Elad kicked off his very first moments in office with a wildly inappropriate, if not racist joke. And yes, you can clearly hear Burt egging him on like they’re at a bar, not City Hall. Their behavior is embarrassing for Frisco, and any candidate for office who helped this duo must answer for it. We can’t let our council turn into a frat party of fools. Not on my watch. It takes a lifetime to build a reputation, but you can lose it in an instance.
Choose wisely, Frisco.
